Facebook Pages

Facebook has many groups dedicated to the identification of different animals (and plants) and sharing of knowledge about their ecology. These groups have thousands of members, many of whom are experts in their fields. Joining these groups will help you in identifying any animals you may have taken photos of, exposing you to photographs of animals from all around Australia which will increase your knowledge about Australia’s fantastic biodiversity. Here is a list of identification groups that Faunaverse loves:

Australian Reptile/Amphibian Identification

Australian Marsupials, Reptiles, Amphibians, Invertebrates and Plants

Australian Mammal Identification

Facebook pages Faunaverse loves

Backyard Zoology is our favourite Facebook blog. Mandy takes photos of wildlife in her backyard and around Thirroul NSW. She is hilarious and you’ll fall in love with her page.

The Trees Project: Dr Jen Sanger & Steve Pearce are The Tree Projects. Since 2015 they have travelled to document the worlds biggest trees in cluding the worlds tallest flowering plant Eucalypts regnans in their homeland of Tasmania. They use innovative film and photography methods, tree climbing and adventure science to raise awareness about the world’s significant trees and the forests in which they reside.

In situ science: The Facebook page of Faunaverse’s favourite science communication podcast.

Remember The Wild is a nature engagement charity that facilitates people’s access to nature. Promoting ecological knowledge within our community. Encouraging public appreciation of the natural world by supporting like-minded initiatives.
